Wow. Wow! WOW!! I SO wish I lived in Calgary to see these live!!

Created by Meags Fitzgerald as part of a larger installation:

Crèche is a show that I have dedicated my last year of my BFA to making. If you are not able to make it to the opening, the show is up from April 6 to 11th, the gallery will be open during the daytime.

Meags Fitzgerald’s installation, Crèche, visits a simulacrum of her parents’ bedroom at the time of her homebirth. The artwork addresses maternal lineage, the distortions of memory and personal history through both subject matter and materials. By using domestic craft Fitzgerald examines cultural roles and participates in a history of woman’s work. Crèche exists in a space between the real, the remembered and the imagined.
