Danielle

Danielle Holke is a long-time knitter, first taught by her beloved grandmother as a young girl growing up in Canada. In 2008 she launched KnitHacker, a lively blog and knitting community which has since grown to be a popular presence in contemporary knitting culture, reaching more than a million readers each year. As a marketing professional, Danielle advises and works with a motley squad of artists, yarn bombers, film makers, pattern designers, yarn companies and more.     Always have more projects in the wings. This sculpture was actually a mid-size model for a larger version proposed. And I’m currently working on a full bike rack bomb to replace 2 smaller ones that have gone missing.

    I own this very cool piece of art! I asked Juanita to make “something” for my yard and did she ever! She also knits smaller works of amazing art: flower pins, purses, tree of life sculptures, cactus….. I think her car might be knitted.

    There’s only a green video tape cozy on the antenna and a blue yarn cozy on the driver’s side seat belt. Other than that the car is knit-free.
