Danielle Holke is a long-time knitter, first taught by her beloved grandmother as a young girl growing up in Canada. In 2008 she launched KnitHacker, a lively blog and knitting community which has since grown to be a popular presence in contemporary knitting culture, reaching more than a million readers each year. As a marketing professional, Danielle advises and works with a motley squad of artists, yarn bombers, film makers, pattern designers, yarn companies and more. Since 2008, Knithacker has shined a bright light on independent designers and small businesses. This year alone, KnitHacker has directly helped hundreds of designers connect with knitting and crochet enthusiasts. How cool is this! I have been following your blog for about a month now and you’ve featured my work here!!!!! (I’m very excited about this, thought I should mention that in case you can’t tell.)
Amazing! Do you have any more knitting projects we can look forward too?
Always have more projects in the wings. This sculpture was actually a mid-size model for a larger version proposed. And I’m currently working on a full bike rack bomb to replace 2 smaller ones that have gone missing.
I own this very cool piece of art! I asked Juanita to make “something” for my yard and did she ever! She also knits smaller works of amazing art: flower pins, purses, tree of life sculptures, cactus….. I think her car might be knitted.
There’s only a green video tape cozy on the antenna and a blue yarn cozy on the driver’s side seat belt. Other than that the car is knit-free.
