The Art of Knit, by United Colors of Benetton #nsfw #xrated

Here are a few pics from my last-minute visit to Benneton's recent knitting-themed "pop-up experience" in Soho. WARNING: these may not safe for work. ben_three ben_two ben_four Apparently these mannequins in mid-coitus offended people (no big surprise, right?) and even the NY Times called it "knit-porn". Do you find them offensive? It's pretty tame as far as offensive art goes and the vibrant colours give the whole thing a comical nature. For myself, I wasn't offended in the least. http://www.benetton.com/popup/

I am not offended, but y question is, whythe need for such a public demonstration? As a MFT (marriage and family therapist) who speclizaes in sexual issues I have concerns from a different perspective. As a Christian again, I see no need for a public display of such a beautiful private act of making love. To me it makes something so precious and beautiful into a cheap public show.
