Mary Oh crochets beautiful purses with yarn and aluminium pull tabs like this one here:
Speaking of getting crafty with recyclables, I’ve had a beautifully-shaped almond milk bottle kicking around for awhile … just couldn’t part with it. I knew someday a project would come along that I’d want to use it for and I was right. I got the opportunity to try some cork-shaped LED lights (if you’re a regular reader, you know I love LEDs), so I decided to experiment and combine my lights with some knitting and that beautiful bottle.
There’s no pattern, I started with 20 stitches and then added/dropped stitches as I went. The cork-shaped lights came well-packaged in a small box, are good quality and easy to figure out – you charge them via USB and you turn them on by twisting the light. Both lights came with a charge, so I could use them right away.
If you’re looking for a simple and quick way to re-use a wine bottle or decorate with light accents, this set can be a good approach … and it you’re crafty, a nice starting point.
