Snowy Day Yarn Bomb by Hi, Jenny Brown – a Real Treat for Ezra Jack Keats Fans!

Books get adapted for film all the time but it’s not often that they get adapted for yarn bombs!

Hi, Jenny Brown – crochet pattern designer, charity crocheter, and yarnbomber – has changed all that with her amazing yarn bomb of the children’s classic, The Snow Day by Ezra Jack Keats. Did you read that when you were a kid? I sure did!

If you don’t know, The Snowy Day is an award-winning picture book written and illustrated by American Ezra Jack Keats in 1962.

It’s about a boy named Peter who explores his neighborhood after the first snowfall of the season.

According to Wikipedia, “the inspiration for Peter’s character came from a Life magazine photo article from 1940, and Keats’ desire to have minority children of New York as central characters in his stories.”

You can find this yarn bomb at the Iselin Branch Library in New Jersey.

Be sure to follow Hi, Jenny Brown.
