"Dolly" – Outdoor Installation By Crochet Artist Tina Fox, As Part of Sydney's "Vivid Light Walk"

The Vivid Light Walk is happening in Sydney, Australia, now through to June 8. It looks amazing and what really caught my eye is this large LED-lit dolly crocheted by artist Tina Fox: “The Cremorne artist made Dolly by crocheting 3km of marine rope into a five-metre long figure.” Read more about it at The Daily Telegraph, “The Vivid sculpture you need to get a selfie with” Visit Tina Fox online: Bonus: Tina’s instagram account is worth following:...

Yarn Bombing Project Helps Homeless in Calgary

This home in Calgary has been purchased by the Calgary Homeless Foundation, and is slated for demolition. I saw Leanne Smith’s incredible photos of this worthy project and fell in love. Thankfully she gave me permission to post a few pics from her fabulous Flickr page – thanks Leanne! If you buy the pattern from Kate and Bex Ryan for just $2, all proceeds go to StarGuild of Seattle Children’s Hospital, which raises money to help families of hospitalized children focus on helping their children get better instead of...

The week before I’d been making cat hats from the new book by Sara Thomas, Cats in Hats and there’s a cute heart hat that calls for knitting around a pipecleaner. Instead of using double-pointed needles, which the book calls for but I find...
