Finn's Pick: Mind-Bogglingly Amazing Amigurumi – Japanese "Nue" Crocheted by Lumièna
The nue is one of the oldest yokai (supernatural creature) recorded, having its first appearance in the Kojiki (712 CE), an account of the early histories of Japan. It has the face of a monkey, the limbs of a tiger , the body of a tanuki (Japanese raccoon dog) and the front half of a snake for a tail.
RESOBOX is a NYC gallery in Queens that holds an amigurumi exhibition every year. In fact, tonight is opening night and Lumièna has several pieces in the show. This year I do too! I made jellyfish amigurumi lamps, which you can see here.
