Whether you’re a seasoned sushi master or simply a fan of the good old-fashioned BLT, a good knife is an absolute must in the kitchen!

Recently I was given the opportunity to review a set of five kitchen knives from Montaig. Stylish and compact, this knife set comes with a 1x 8″ chef knife, a 1x 8“ bread knife, a 1x 8” carving knife, a 1x 4.5″ utility knife, and a 1x 3.5″ paring knife – all in rust proof, dishwasher safe premium grade stainless steel – and a beautiful wooden block.

The first thing I noticed were the sleek handles. Not only do they have a modern look, they also have a good weight which makes them feel great in your hand.

In terms of function, the knives perform with ease and precision – I never had to work at it. I usually prefer a serrated knife to cut tomatoes, so I broke convention and made the first slice with a bread knife.

As you can see, it made a clean cut with a perfect edge.

I moved on to another selection and found it sliced through just as easily – again, a perfect edge!
