______

LOL, you have to love Princess Diana and how clever she was with messaging … This pattern originally appeared in McCall’s magazine in 1984 and was donated to p/hop in 2011 by the designers, Joanna Osborne and Sally Muir, to raise money for Médécins Sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders (MSF).

You can help keep Diana’s life’s work alive by downloading Muir and Osborne’s iconic black sheep sweater pattern and donating to Doctors Without Borders. The pattern is free, even without a donation, but please donate if you can. Doctors Without Borders does good work around the globe.

I have the original of the Princess Diana pattern in a scrapbook.
I have a large collection of almost every weekly magazine pattern published in the 80s, 90s to date. Suffice to say there’s a lot of mohair & intarsia styles.
Had to smile as a pattern from the 80s was recently republished – no mention was made of its origin !
