What’s a “knithack”?

A knithack is:

  1. a significant modification to an existing pattern (or the mashing of two patterns or several patterns or a portion thereof) to make something entirely new
  2. an usual object made with fibre (ie: a knitted beet, or ipod, perhaps grafitti, etc)
  3. the use of wool as the medium in an art form that would otherwise call for something else (ie: a felted “painting”)”

So if you’re coming here from flickr b/c I invited one of your pieces and you don’t think it’s a hack, well, I picked it for some variation of the reasons above … please join us if you like or don’t if you prefer not.

Thanks and please send any feedback to knithack@gmail.com
