She Knits With Instant Noodles To Remind Us All To Slow Down

A continuation of work she started in 2014, Cynthia Delaney Suwito knits instant noodles in an effort to remind us all to slow down and to take a break from our “instant” world.

This noodlework, appropriately entitled “Knitting Noodles,” is currently being performed by Suwito at the 2016 Untapped Discovery show in Singapore. She visits the gallery every second day to knit one pack of noodles, adding about 20-30cm to it’s length with each session.

“I’m actually making the process of knitting slower than it should be. The purpose of it is actually to (make) people slow down and take a break from this ‘instant’ world.”

No doubt knitting with noodles is much harder than it looks. To learn more about Suwito’s work, visit cynthiadsuwito.com.
