For the base hat I used Justine Turner’s great Aviatrix Baby Hat pattern (ravelry). Instead of one flap with a button, I did two half-flaps down the sides that don’t connect, because I’m not confident I can attach a button secure enough for tiny baby fists. The goggles, that ubiquitous steampunk accessory, I just crocheted, no pattern.
