Video: Flash Mob Celebrates Lady Who’s Knit More Than 550 Sweaters Since 1955 … This Is Her Story
“Since 1955, Loes Veenstra from the 2nd Carnissestraat has knitted over 550 sweaters that she stored in cardboard boxes at her home. Strange thing was that she knitted the sweaters for nobody. In fact the sweaters were never worn. We collaborated with Christien Meindertsma on this project to photograph all sweaters into a solid book. Furthermore we instigated a video where for one time the sweaters would come alive with the help of all the people from her neighboorhood inspired by the flashmob phenomena. Loes was in for a big surprise! The whole project was awarded the Dutch Design Award 2013.”
