Another fun gift combo for people who love to give knit and crochet!

This bird you see below is all the rage in Brooklyn right now! Spotted last week by a birder with an excellent eye, news of this Painted Bunting traveled fast through the birding community and a small crowd gathered. I was part of the crowd last Saturday afternoon and I was lucky enough to see him. As you can see, he’s a gorgeous bird, a real rarity.

It got me thinking, binoculars would make a great Christmas gift – everyone can use a pair for sports events, birdwatching, boating, the list goes on. And what if you paired them with a cute crochet bird ornament or a pair of funky bird-themed socks?

I think that would make a unique gift – I for one would love receiving something like that!

* I received a pair of DBPower 8×40 Binoculars at a discounted price in exchange for writing a review on the blog. These are excellent binoculars for a beginner birder or for a family with younger kids. As an infrequent birdwatcher, they’re bigger than I am used to, but I appreciated that when my seven year old son picked them up and tried them out. He was able to use them easily and needed no assistance from me to operate them. These are good value for the price.
