David Bowie has said that he considers Aladdin Sane (a lad insane) to be the final evolution of Ziggy Stardust … essentially “Ziggy goes to America.” The album Aladdin Sane was the first one he made as a superstar and it was clear the character had to be retired so Bowie could evolve as an artist. His famous lightning bolts from that era still inspire people to this day…
