Josephine Baker was an entertainer, civil rights activist, war hero and mother. She broke racial barriers throughout her life, refusing to perform for segregated audiences in the United States. And these are just a few of the reasons why France-based amirugumi artist Suzy Dias decided to immortalize Baker in yarn.
