Knit a Hat That Looks Like a Bob Ross Painting …

“We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents.” Bob’s famous quote is a great mantra for us knitters who often worry too much about making mistakes. In my opinion, perfection is over-rated, cracks and imperfections are how the light get in …

That’s not to say that there is anything imperfect about this Alaska beanie, designed by Camille Descoteaux. Doesn’t it remined you of a Bob Ross painting? Love it! If you’re a crocheter, try the Aurora Fair Isle Hat pattern by Sarah Donovan!

If you’re looking for the discount/worsted version, I have a free beanie pattern on Ravelry called “Sunset in the Forest!” Spread the tree silhouette love! 🙂

Just found this hat and fell in love with it. Have downloaded the pattern from Ravelry and hope to get it started this week. The pattern gives how many to cast on and a chart but no info on any decreasing, etc. Is it knit on circular or straight needles? Want to know what I’m going to be doing before I get started. Thank you.

Hi Jean, everything you need to know is on the Ravelry page. Here’s what I found, “This beanie is knit in the round. This pattern is written for circular needles but you can easily adapt it to DPN. The first section is simple 2×2 ribbing. Then, follow the chart to knit the trees in stranded knitting.”
