I bought this beautiful Rebel Rebel scarf pattern for $7 but not all the stitch patterns are printed. The scarf is not laid out in the photographs, so you can’t see what pattern comes next. I’ve never seen a pattern like this. Have I missed the instructions somewhere? Am I to buy the two books mentioned in addition to this $7 pattern? I’m so surprised. I would like so much to make the scarf but I’m not much for ad libbing my way through this and finding my own patterns. Please tell me I have missed some important link.

Hi Julia, thanks for the comment. You’re right, it’s not a pattern in the traditional sense, this is why the maker calls it a ‘recipe’ … it’s common with projects like this that the chart designer will offer a few charts and invite you to make up the other parts with a variety of charts, etc. I would go back and read the Ravelry listing for more clarity, Jodi lays it out fairly clearly in the notes, and if you’d like help reading charts, please let me know.
