I was 17-years-old when Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit dominated the universe and I’ll never forget hearing the song for the first time, in the backseat of a junker, getting a ride home from high school with friends. A couple years later, I was working at a local community radio station and somehow scored an interview with Courtney Love in support of the release of Hole’s “Live Through This” … but … it was never to be … Kurt Cobain ended his life on April 5th and of course everything changed after that.
