Honest Ed’s” by Rob Elliott of Swizzle Studio who says: “Julia’s friend made this knit version of the famous Toronto retailer. It’s a cozy for those massive packages of toilet paper.”


WOW! This is one of the oddest hacks we’ve seen at knitahcker. Loving it… As Rob suggests, “Honest Ed’s is a landmark discount store located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is named for its proprietor, Ed Mirvish, who opened the store in 1948 and oversaw its operations for almost sixty years, until his death in 2007.”


It was massive and pretty essential as a young university student organizing her first apartment … except I didn’t like how they often treated me at the checkout, they were always so suspicious! Here’s a photo of the store which closed in 2016 after 68 years in business:
