District 12 Cowl Wrap – inspired by the cowl seen in Catching Fire (free patterns in knit & crochet)

Earlier this month I received a message from Ilana Rabinowitz, VP of Marketing at Lion Brand, wondering if I would meet with her about a role in the marketing department. After freelancing for many years, the idea of transitioning into a full-time role with one brand really appealed to me – plus it’s Lion Brand! I love the storefront window displays at their NYC studio, their open attitude towards innovation, and the company culture appeared to be a good fit for me.

Well, week three as Lion Brand’s digital communications manager approaches and so far so good! The latest Weekly Stitch newsletter hit inboxes yesterday and this weekend I’m getting good and rested for all the Black Friday initiatives coming up this week.

I don’t think much will change with KnitHacker. I’ll still be posting the best fibre hacks I find, and when they’re connected to Lion Brand, I’ll be sure to be transparent about that, and the fact that I am an employee.

On that note, below are a couple of Lion Brand patterns I want to spotlight today. The design department just released patterns for their Hunger Games-inspired “District 12 Cowl Wrap,” in both knit and crochet:

Enjoy and may the odds be ever in your favour!
