Last week, Gizmodo published a story on tardigrades and how they’re sure to inherit the earth. These micro-animals can withstand radiation, total dehydration, freezing, “the vacuum of space, and even the intense pressure found at the bottom of the Marianas Trench.” Oh, and they’ve also survived five mass extinctions.
