UPDATED! Incredible Interactive 250ft 300ft Game of Thrones Tapestry – Relive Every Season, Every Episode, Every Epic Moment …
This article was originally published in 2017, two years before the airing of the final and most-anticipated season of Game Of Thrones. Now that the series is complete, the tapestry is too! Read all about it in The Guardian, “Blood, sex and needlework: Game of Thrones recreated in 90-metre tapestry.”
The Game of Thrones Tapestry will be exhibited in the historic Hôtel du Doyen, within walking distance of the Bayeux Tapestry, from September to December 2019.
“After 7 years of production, Game of Thrones has truly become a part of Northern Ireland’s heritage and culture. In order to celebrate this, Tourism Ireland have created the Northern Ireland Game of Thrones Tapestry – a giant, 77 metre long medieval wall-hanging that brings to life the events, locations and story of the most popular television series of all time.”
I hope this tapestry travels, I need to see it close up and in person. Luckily we can all experience the behemothic tapestry via this interactive version to appreciate it from afar.
Every season, every episode, every epic moment …
Created by Publicis London for Tourism Ireland, the tapestry is more than 250 feet, longer than its inspiration, the 230 foot Bayeux Tapestry, a famous 11th century piece created to document the events that led to the Norman conquest of England.
Wondering about season 7? A new section will be added every week, following the release of each new episode.
Here’s a short making-of video:
Shall we begin?
