I love this project, what fun! Created by Leslie Blackmon in 2011, she says, “each sheep represents an American icon, and was made with much care and love. I include them here as an important part of my checkered artistic history.”

In the fall of 1029, four of the sheep (Louis, Andy, Liberace and Martha) won the juror’s prize at the Annemarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center in Solomon’s Island, Maryland in the following category: “If it makes you laugh, it’s Folk Art.”
