Yarn Bombing For Mental Health … This Crochet Street Art Has A Purpose And It’s All About YOU!

Yarn Bombing For Mental Health … This Crochet Street Art Has A Purpose And It’s All About YOU!

If you’ve been following KnitHacker for awhile, you might recall a post I published in 2020 about Nina Elliott, aka ‘Rock Vandal,’ a fellow Canadian and an established yarn bomber whose kooky and creative work I really appreciate. One day I hope to catch Nina’s work in-person on a visit to my family living in Eastern Canada but it’s been hard to travel out there … you know, for reasons. One day soon!

In the meantime, I can enjoy this recent write-up – Newfoundland street artist hopes latest yarn-bomb project using mirrors and crochet will have people looking inward and improving their mental health – about Nina’s latest project, currently on display in St. John’s, Corner Brook, Twillingate and Gander.

“The big idea is that the crochet, combined with the mirrors, encourages you to reflect on your internal dialogue when you see your reflection.”
