The body is a magnificent system and Candace Couse knitted it. Despite being 15 years old, her film “Sick” (2011) is still a must-see, mesmerizing stop-motion short, produced through the National Film Board of Canada’s Hothouse apprenticeship program. It takes you on a journey through pulsating organs and the dark recesses of a fully hand-knitted human body – cozy and visceral in equal measure. Makes me proud to be Canadian … it’s honestly one of the most unique things I’ve ever shared on KnitHacker – can’t believe I missed it the first time around!
KnitHacker is Danielle Holke’s long-running love letter to knitting and crochet. Since 2008, it’s been a home for indie designers, free patterns, amigurumi, fiber art, and the occasional dose of craftivism. Stay a while.
In addition to five-star patterns, I have a selection of ready-to-ship knits in my shop and I also take commissions from time to time.
My popular chicken hat is always a big hit. In fact, one of my customers keeps coming back for more, leaving this review: “sweet lady who’s very considerate and kind. Love my hat so much. Thank you!” 🐔

Affiliate partnerships help keep KnitHacker running and allow me to continue supporting independent designers around the world. In fact, over the years KnitHacker has generated over a million dollars in sales for indie designers – something I’m incredibly proud of. Thank you for your support!
