knitted thyroid by Ben Cuevas
Ben says: “Here’s another chakra/anatomy piece that will be incorporated into the hospital room installation, as part of my upcoming exhibition at Canal Gallery in Holyoke, MA (which will be up May 2-13, 2010). This piece portrays the anatomy of the throat (note the pinkish thyroid gland), which corresponds to the fifth chakra.”

This is FANTASTIC. I had my thryoid completely removed when I was 15. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss it in some way or another – you never know how good it feels to have a particular gland ’til it’s gone.
I definitely need this… perhaps incorporated with some sort of scarf so I can actually tie it on and pretend I still have one!
