Review: My Craft Room Makeover With Zebra Blinds … KnitHacker Users Save 5% For a Limited Time!
Over the summer I had the opportunity to consult with Zebra Blinds for a window makeover. The window coverings in my office / craft room still had curtains from the previous owners, so I was excited to get started on this much-needed home improvement. I had never been through the process of ordering custom blinds — I had only ever bought prefab blinds from IKEA — so I had no idea what to expect. Enter Jeff Lee …
A friendly and knowledgeable sales associate with Zebra Blinds, Jeff walked me through everything, from coordinating samples to explaining the correct way to measure the window frames. If there’s one thing I learned, it’s that you must make sure you understand how to measure! I was sure I was measuring correctly and when Jeff doublechecked, I was a little off and he helped me make the corrections. Phew! And lucky for you, they have a handy dandy How To Measure section on the site. And a helpful thing to note, each product page has its own tabbed area with specific measurement and installation info.
Once I had reviewed the samples and made a selection – I decided on 2″ Traditions Graber Wood Blinds in Dark Cherry – the blinds were here in just over two weeks, fast! Here they are, all laid out and waiting to be installed … with a little help from my husband Collin and a drill. We got this!
The Windows Before Blinds
Here is window number one sporting a set of ancient maple leaf curtains … as a Canadian, you know I love Canada, but it’s time for these to go!
And here is window number two … same deal. Bye, bye curtains, hello Zebra Blinds!
The Installation – Easy Peasy!
The Zebra Blinds system comes with easy-to-follow instructions and Collin and I found the whole process took about 30 minutes to complete … and we even did it with no bickering! LOL …
Here’s Collin, he’s just installed the brackets on the window frame and is getting ready to insert the blinds. Parker, our stinky bulldog, is on standby – he thinks he’s a good helper and we let him believe it!
Success and Parker gives his seal of approval!
This is Collin’s amazed face – he’s amazed at how easy this is (and that I measured correctly) and that he’ll still have an afternoon to work on his own house projects!
Onto window number two … finished in minutes.
These blinds are ready for their close-up!
